Project Recap – Hidden Treasure Found Buried in Overland Park Backyard

landscape maintenance overland parkPeggy Billick, an Overland Park resident, called Greenleaf with concerns about a garden bed in her backyard that was in need of a refresh and a little TLC. Greenleaf often performs ‘refreshes’ when garden beds are in need of more than general maintenance, have become overgrown, or when a customer is looking for a change but not wanting an entirely new design. After an assessment, it came to our attention that all the materials that we needed for the project were already residing within the bed.

Refreshing An Overland Park Backyard

overland park landscape maintenanceScattered flagstone pieces were uncovered beneath vines and weeds to create a defined pathway along with a pad on which a bench would sit. Groundcovers were dug up and spaced to provide a better overall mat while additional plants such as hostas were repositioned to offer spatial continuity within the garden bed. Finally, an existing trellis was relocated to delineate a new entrance into the garden.

Overall, this project was a great opportunity and example of how simple things like repurposing and reorganizing materials can make a HUGE difference in your landscape. If you’re in need of a garden bed refresh, give us a call, and we can schedule a time for one of our team members to help you.
